About Willow

Willow is building the compliance infrastructure for aged care, disability, and healthcare organizations.

Most providers are forced to manage compliance across spreadsheets, shared drives, emails, PDFs, legacy systems, and disconnected software. Evidence lives everywhere. Reporting is duplicated. Audits become stressful projects instead of normal operations. Teams spend more time preparing for compliance than improving care.

The Role

We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to help build the infrastructure that powers Willow's compliance platform. This is a foundational role on a small, high-quality engineering team working on systems that genuinely matter — helping aged care, disability, and healthcare organisations stay compliant and deliver safer care.

You'll work across the full stack, taking ownership of core platform services, integrations, and the reliability of systems that care providers depend on every day. We care about clean architecture, thoughtful engineering, and building things that last.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain robust backend services and APIs that power Willow's compliance platform

Own integrations with third-party systems used by care providers (HR, clinical, incident management tools)

Ensure platform reliability, security, and scalability as Willow grows across new sites, countries, and frameworks

Collaborate with product and AI team members to ship features that help care organisations manage evidence, audits, and compliance requirements

Contribute to engineering standards, code review culture, and technical decision-making as the team grows

Maintain a deep understanding of healthcare data sensitivity, privacy obligations (including HIPAA, APPs, and related frameworks), and security best practices

Qualifications

5+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience, ideally in a SaaS environment

Strong command of modern backend technologies (e.g. Node.js, Python, TypeScript) and relational databases

Experience designing and building RESTful or GraphQL APIs at scale

Comfortable with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling

A strong sense of ownership — you take problems seriously, communicate clearly, and follow through

Nice to have: experience in regulated industries (healthcare, fintech, legal) or working with health data standards

What We Offer

Competitive salary, commensurate with experience

Flexible, remote-first working arrangements based in Australia

The opportunity to work on a platform with real-world impact in healthcare and aged care

Work alongside a small team of experienced engineers who take craft seriously

Direct influence on product direction and technical architecture at an early stage

A culture built on doing meaningful work without unnecessary bureaucracy
